An opportunity has become available in the Tax Department at Mazars. We are looking for an individual to assist the team members or partners with all administrative aspects of the business from client engagement to final presentation of their reports.

The Tax Compliance Assistant will report to a person designated by the Department Head of the tax consulting team as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the team
  • General tax administration
  • Client Liaison
  • Maintain and update client database
  • Manage all information (filing systems, storing and retrieving information)
  • A few of the duties will include maintenance of tax client database and all transactions on tax management software and e-filing
  • Assist with administration in relation to tax registrations and updates
  • Assist with the completion of medical supporting documentation
  • Assist with the completion of travel log books
  • Assist with the completion of income tax returns
  • Liaise with the SARS contact centre


Requirements:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 / Matric with a university exemption
  • A tax or other relevant qualification would be advantageous
  • Computer literate- proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point

  • Deadline-orientated with minimum supervision required
  • Solution-orientated and able to overcome setbacks
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Accounting knowledge, advantageous
  • An interest in tax would be advantageous
  • English proficient
  • Working under pressure within a corporate environment
